The Forestry Division cares for several thousand trees and shrubs located in City parks, the boulevard beautification areas, undeveloped parklands, and City lots.
The City Arborist has established a tree program which involves long-term and short-term goals, techniques to enhance tree survival rates, and inventory. The City Arborist also secures grants, works with volunteers, and helps design citywide beautification areas.
The Forestry Division also cares for City trees by trimming, planting, fertilizing, and moving them. The City Arborist also takes care of the City tree farm and the Tree City USA program, as well as educating the public.
