The Utilities Department includes these divisions:
Provides administrative, technical, and supervisory direction for department operations & capital projects development & coordination.
Customer service representatives assist customers with connecting and disconnecting utility services. They also generate bills and collect payments for electric, water, sewer, and trash services, as well as maintaining all utilities account records, and provide assistance program information, rate schedules, and energy conservation information.
Collects and treats the sewage produced by the citizens and businesses of Gillette.
Produces and distributes potable water to the citizens and businesses of Gillette.
Provides support for capital improvement design, conceptual layout & design, electrical infrastructure mapping, inspection of infrastructure, street light program, and system planning, as well as internal support to other City divisions.
Maintains the City’s electric distribution lines, operates & maintains electrical substations, installs & maintains street lights, holiday decorations, and line extensions.
