The governing body of the City of Gillette is comprised of a Mayor elected at-large and six Council Members who are elected from three wards [PDF] (two from each ward). The Mayor and Council Members serve four-year terms.
City Council meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Agenda meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the Monday preceding the regular meeting in the 2nd floor community room.
Persons wishing to serve on the City Council must file at the City Clerk's office prior to the Primary Election, and the top two candidates from each ward go on to the General Election. Candidates must be 18 years of age, be a registered voter, and live within a ward with an opening.
