The primary mission of the Building Inspection Division is to ensure buildings are constructed in compliance with City's adopted construction codes; building safety is the division's number one concern.

Gillette has a Code Compliance Program that deals with nuisance complaints and issues such as tall weeds and grass. This program operates year-round and has been very successful in keeping with the City’s beautification plan.

The Engineering Division is comprised of the Regulatory Division, Capital Projects Division and Traffic Safety.

Capital Projects Division We provide a broad range of professional civil and municipal engineering services to develop, maintain and improve the City's infrastructure with our Capital Improvement Program. 

Regulatory Division Reviews all subdivision, annexation and development proposals, and commercial building permits within the planning district boundaries and must review, approve and permit the infrastructure improvements within the same. 

Traffic Safety Division Provides a broad range of activities associated with traffic sign, signals, pavement markings, and traffic studies to improve and help maintain a safe transportation network within the City of Gillette.

The Planning Division administers the Zoning Ordinances and Subdivision Regulations for the City of Gillette. Planning staff review and issue permits for current development activities of homeowners and developers.
